PostSubject: EAR INFECTION IN GILT   4th April 2011, 8:46 am

I have noticed in the last week that one of my gilts had lost some appetite, on sat. I let her out to walk around, little tilt to the head when walking. Gave her a spank to get her running lost her balance and fell right over. I am thinking it's an ear infection anybody know how to treat it?

I tend to get pretty aggressive with those because they can go south on you in a hurry. Talk to your veterinarian but I like to use dexamethasone, banamine, and either naxcel or one of the synthetic penicillin like polyflex.
Treat her for 3-5 days.
