My ag teacher keeps pushing oats but is it necessary?

Oats are your cheapest route to a good filler for your hogs. The trick with oats is that you need your showpig to have access to plenty of water so that the oats absorb and expand. We have used them consistantly and it has worked and been very effective for us.
