You can build a breeding stall to put her in to where she cannot run away. All of the sows I live breed i put them in the stall. My stall is nothing special just two 6ft X 36in welded framed panels with one 18in welded framed panel all welded together like a stall and I put the sows and bring the boar in behind them and he mounts and whether they like it or not they have nowhere to go.

Another way is to colect raw semen from your boars and insert it manually since they will lock up for you when you put pressure on them. but I would say the best and easiest way is to build you a stall to where they cant move. You can also put a clip feed trough inside the stall to keep the sow's mind off of the boar behind her.

Some gilts just dont like to be mounted and rough around like most stinky ol boars do to them.

Johnny 5 ,
we have run into very similar issues in the past. There is actually a very simple way around this and we have been 100% successful with this.

Lets imagine that for the most part the animals vulva size mimics the level of estrus that they are in . If you can figure out initially the sow or gilts vulva size and have a good idea as to when it is at its largest , then you are steps ahead. If your pig is not standing , you can still breed at 24 -12 or 12-24, but make sure to start calculating the time AFTER the vulva size starts to decrease in size. In other words , the later the better. Try this out.
