| Right now he is on 19% . He is on about a full large coffee can of feed. Thats it. I dont want to try any supplements because I am afraid to push him to hard.
Duncan crosses our mind very often but he might save us a lot of semen money if we use him at home. We are probably going to give him a huge run in the fall and the spring and see what he throws out. I am hardest on my showpigs and it takes alot for me to speak extremely high of our hogs because I nit pick on the smallest things and we are brutally honest, but this boar so impressive at this stage , that there is no reason why we would not want to use him a ton. If we could make pigs very similar to him , I will replace all my sows with his offspring. |

| Keep it in mind that if you could take him to Duncan and get him bought by a Stud you could retain a %of ownership for his semen for your herd. He could compete with the top up there and will turn alot of heads. But I also understand on keeping him as well. I would say he has gotten a good bit better since his last pics |

| Hey Tclark , is it possible to still retain a % even though he makes the sale. Im not to sure how the sale works. |

| I dont think they offer anything like that. I do know there are alot of studs that will work the breeders deals for % ownerships and semen contracts. I would bet alot of stud owners would approach you in Duncan about him. And you could allways buy him back in the Auction if he doesnt get high enough to let him go I have seen that done alot with other breeders RWG bought theyre york boar back at belton and now he is at Prairie State. I think he shouldnt have any problem not bringing enough $ to let him go. Even if you bring him back home I think you will have done a good thing by advertising your boar at the big show. I think it could sell you alot of Semen by letting him be shown and seen. |
