| I have never cut a sow's teeth but have cut boar tusks. It is pretty straightforward just snare them and use OB wire to saw them off. |

| yea i have used some wire stuff to dehorn cows before and also cut off a cats leg once. I was a vet tech at one time. ok when i snare then should i tie them to anything? there isnt a good pig vet around my area unless i want to take it to the vet school OSU and that can get pretty pricie _________________ Fly your way to a champion trophy with a pig from Flying N Genetics.

| I have always just used a regular hog snare and had somebody hold them. Like the one at this link.

Sounds like you know where to get OB wire. You can buy handles or use makeshift ones by wrapping the wire around a couple short sticks. |

| curious why you would want to cut your boars tusk? should'nt a boar that you collect from be tamed as a puppy dog so you can collect from him or them safetly, and handle them at any time WITH OUT CURIOUSLY THINKING YOU'LL GET HURT by him or them?

| Safety is not a bad thing and I have a big chunk out of my calf from one of those so called "puppy dog" boars.
It was a boar I used for heat checking I handled him every day and he never so much as barked at me until the day he put a tusk through my calf and tore a hole clean through it. Two minutes of preventive maintenance would have saved me a lifetime of limping. |

| There is NO such thing as a TAME boar or even Animal. this boar was showed and is messed with daily. he has never really tried to bit BUT why take a chance? When i am collecting him he likes to try to bit at you, and when he dismounts the dummy that is the first thing he does. I also have a 3 year old daughter that like to pet "her Piggies" he has never offered to bit bit those Tusks are so sharp i dont want him to just sling his head and rip her open. Those Tusks are RAZOR sharp. If you think Boars are puppy dogs i suggest you learn more about pigs before you just go and start buying.
I use to raise and train horses, and it just to have to be horses it can be daogs cats what ever. All animals have there days where they just dont want to be messed with. cutting a boars teeth is just for extra safty. Why not be safe? No animal is 100% TAME _________________ Fly your way to a champion trophy with a pig from Flying N Genetics.
